I am a native Marylander and I love small towns, brickwork, wildflowers, barns, churches and trains. Sketching and painting the world around me has become my passion and I am fortunate to live in a lively community of art and history in Brunswick, in western Frederick County, MD. 

 

Why Bleak House? I am a fan of Charles Dickens' novel of the same name, cheering on the hero Esther but also partly in love with Mr. Jarndyce and his eponymous house. Esther's past has always haunted her but when Mr. Jarndyce hands her the master keys to the beloved estate, a new chapter of her life begins. With its 'growlery' and wandering stairs there will always be room at Bleak House for weary orphans, opinionated neighbors, charming friends and the ever irritating Mr. Skimpole!
